Study of Correlation between Serum Adiponectin Level and Arteriosteogenesis in Patients with Osteoporosis

Background and ObjectiveRecently, the incidence and prevalence rates of osteoporosis and arteriosteogenesis are increased year by year with the improvement of citizen living standards, changes of lifestyles and exacerbation of population structure aging degree, osteopsathyrosis increase and fracture risk caused by osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and its complications caused by arterial calcification have become major social problems with serious threat to life and health of the elderly. Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease which is characterized by decrease of bone mass and micro-structural damage of bone tissue, and leads to osteopsathyrosis increase and easy fracture. Artery calcification is a type of atherosclerosis, which mainly occurs in intima and mesolamella of aorta and artery walls, and is associated with atherosclerosis pathological changes. Its major manifestations are as the follows: vessel wall shows small and dispersed hydroxy apatite crystal calcium deposition, and the bone matrix vesicles within cells similar with physiology bone development are formed, activation of macrophages and mast cells participates in early vessel intimal calcification. Studies have shown that secretion adiponectin, osteoprotegerin, osteopontin, bone morphogenetic bone metabolism are discovered in centers of arterial calcification nodules, which suggests that arterial calcification is procedural ossification process started on vessel surface under regulation of certain induction factors in fact. Adiponectin is a new fat cell factor, but it is confirmed that adiponectin can play an important role in arterial calcification and osteoporosis, and the paper briefly overviews the relativity among adiponectin, osteoporosis and arterial calcification disease severity, and mutual relation with blood biochemistry and inflammatory markers.MethodsAll subjects were enrolled from inpatients who underwent osteoporosis。We studied total of 78 patients.Measurement bone mineral density (BMD)of the lumbar spine,femoral neck and left forearm with Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry were performed。Divided into three groups according to bone mineral density:normal、dsreduced bone mass and osteoporosis。Serum Adiponectin is assayed by ELISA and fasting blood glucose with RIA meanwhile were recorded Age、Coronary artery calcium score、TG、HDL、CRP and other biochemical markers。Data are presented as mean±SD,two groups T test was used to compare measurement data。Correlation analysis of two variables were determined by the Linear Correlation,multivariate analysis were determined by the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis.Result1.Clinical data of the Age、TC and LDL levels,there was no statistical significance among data of normal group, dsreduced bone mass group and osteoporosis group。Serum adiponectin and HDL levels in dsreduced bone mass group and osteoporosis group were lower than in normal group;Coronary artery calcium score、CRP、TG and so on were higher than in normal group.2.arteriosteogenesis was positively correlated with osteoporosis(P<0.01).3.Serum adiponection levels was negatively correlated with TG、CRP、BMI and so on; was positively correlated with HDL (P<0.01); no correlation with TC、LDL.4.In stepwise multiple linear regression analysis TG、HDL、HOMA-IR、could enter into the equation. Adiponectine=22.24-4.046 TG +3.989 HDL-2.879 IR.5.AJ-130 as dependent variable,APN,CRP、FPG, FINS as independent variables,in stepwise multiple linear regression analysis APN、CRP、FPG, FINS could enter into the equation.。Y=- 1115.22-10.67 APN+180.93 FPG +43.60 FINS.6.BMD T as dependent variable, BMI、TG、TC、CRP、HDL、LDL、APN as independent variables,in stepwise multiple linear regression analysis APN、TG、HDL、CRP could enter into the equation。Y=1.886+0.065 APN +1.159 HDL-0.647 TG-0.105 CRP.Conclusion1.Osteoporosis in patients with combined arteriosteogenesis in vivo adiponectin levels were significantly lower than normal group, high levels of adiponectin can against osteoporosis and arteriosteogenesis。osteoporosis has an important with arteriosteogenesis. Osteoporosis and arteriosteogenesis in the intrinsic link exists,the detailed mechanism needs further study.2.Serum adiponection levels was negatively correlated with TG、CRP,which indicates that TG and CRP are influencial factors of serum adiponectin.3.Serum adiponectin level correlates positively with HDL which is a protective factor and has desirable efficacy to prevent and cure arteriosteogenesis.
