The Corelation Between Smad4 and Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma Progression

Objective To analyze the characteristics of the intrahepatic bile duct cell carcinoma and preliminary clinical basis for an in-depth study of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma . Methods A retrospective analysis of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology , Tongji Hospital from April 1985 to December 2008 , 97 cases of intrahepatic bile duct cell carcinoma clinical and pathologic data . Results (1) 43.98% ( 42 / 97 ) patients with hepatitis B surface antigen positive , the positive rate of the male group (51.61%) was significantly higher than the female group ( 28.57% ) , the difference was significant ( P lt; 0.05 ) . 2 the ICC transfer rate of the left hepatic lobe 67.27% ( 37 / 55 ) , significantly higher than the the right lobe ICC transfer rate of 40.48% ( 17 / 42 ) , the difference was significant ( P lt; 0.05 ) ; 3 pathological examination prompt - poorly differentiated tumor metastasis rate was 66.67% ( 34 / 51 ) , 43.48% ( 20 / 46 ) , higher than the well-differentiated tumors , the difference was significant ( P lt; 0.05 ) . All patients within one year recurrence rate of 27.85% ( 22 / 79 ) , the recurrence group intraoperative blood transfusion rate was 63.64% ( 14 / 22 ) was significantly higher than those without recurrence of 31.58% ( 18 / 57) , the difference between the two was significant ( P lt; 0.05 ) . Conclusion 1 . Intrahepatic bile duct cell carcinoma with chronic hepatitis B or serological HBV - positive men significantly higher than that of female . The the ICC transfer and tumor location and degree of differentiation . Transfusion is one of the risk factors for tumor recurrence . The purpose of a preliminary study of tumor suppressor gene Smad4 and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma ICC) . The method using immunohistochemistry SABC method Smad4 expression in 49 cases of ICC organization , and analyze its relationship with the ICC clinical stage, pathological grade . Results Smad4 -positive ICC expression mainly located in the cytoplasm of cholangiocarcinoma cell nucleus also express ICC of Smad4 expression in the absence rate was 44.90% ( 22 / 49 ) , and with tumor stage , degree of differentiation and metastasis related ( P lt ; 0.05). Abnormal expression of Smad4 Conclusion ICC organization prompt TGF-β/Smad4 signaling pathway may play an important role in the occurrence and development process of the ICC ; closely related to the the of Smad4 expression ICC , degree of differentiation , pTNM , intrahepatic metastasis and lymph node metastasis .
