Objective: To compare intertrochanteric fracture with proximal femoral locking compression plate (Locking compression plate, LCP) with dynamic hip screw (dynamic hip screw, DHS) therapeutic advantage . Methods: A retrospective analysis of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine , Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital , Sichuan Orthopaedic Hospital from January 2008 to March 2009 , 100 cases of intertrochanteric fracture surgery patients , male 48 cases , female 52 cases ; age 51-87 years, mean 71 years ; fracture according to Tronzo Evans typing : type I 34 cases , 30 cases of type Ⅱ , 19 cases of type III , type IV 17 cases . DHS fixed 46 cases , LCP fixed 54 cases were compared surgical operation time , blood loss , the follow-up of patients with fracture healing time , the incidence of complications and postoperative efficacy evaluation . Results : 100 patients were followed up for 6 to 14 months of follow - up , an average of 11 months . LCP group operation time than the DHS group, the average short about 19min blood loss was less on average than the DHS group of approximately 111 ml ; was no significant difference in the incidence of complications ; better than the DHS group of type III and type IV fractures LCP group efficacy excellent rate , the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ) . Conclusion: The proximal femoral locking compression plate ( LCP ) for intertrochanteric fracture fixation , fracture healing fast ; type III , type IV intertrochanteric fractures , more effective than the dynamic hip screw ( DHS ) .
