Plasma Retinol Binding Protein 4 Level and Its Correlation in Patients with Essential Hypertension of Kazakans

Objective To explore the plasma retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) levels in the patients with essential hypertension(EH) of Xinjiang Kazakans and the relations between plasma RBP4 level and blood pressure、blood lipids、blood glucose、insulin、insulin resistance (IR)、waist hip ratio (WHR) and obesity.Methods Totally 81 Kazakans cases were selected for the subjects. They were divided into two groups according to their blood pressure:EH group(n=41)and control group(n=40). Measurment of blood pressure, body height, body mass,waist circumference(WC) and hip circumference. Fasting venous blood was drawn to detect the plasma RBP4、fasting insulin(FINS)、fasting plasma glucose(FPG)、total cholesterol(TC)、triglyceride(TG)、high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)、low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)、apoprotein-Al (Apo-Al) and apoprotein-B (Apo-B),calculating body mass index(BMI)、waist-hip ratio(WHR)、body fat percentage(BF%)and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR).Results①The plasma RBP4 concentration in EH group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01).②RBP4 was positively and significantly correlated with age、systolic blood pressure(SBP)、diastolic blood pressure (DBP)、WC、WHR、FPG、HOMA-IR in EH group,and positively and significantly correlated with FPG in control group.③Multiple regression analysis showed that SBP and WHR were independent factors to affect the RBP4 level in EH group,FPG was independent factors to affect the plasma RBP4 level in control group.Conclusions Concentration is increased in the patients with EH of Kazakans,and there is correlation between RBP4 and blood pressure、WC、WHR、FPG、HOMA-IR.RBP4 may affect blood pressure、blood glucose、WC、WHR by IR.
