Cantilevered roadheader is the main mechanical equipment of coal tunneling, and its performance equality is directly related to drivage efficiency. The backward basic theory and methods of roadheader designing have been restricting the development of roadheader. Using the virtual prototyping technology and finite element analysis method, this article explored a new research method of roadheader designing.According to the research status of roadheader, this article researched the space installation locating parameters of cutting head pick, and built the three-dimensional model of roadheader using the EBZ150A type longitudinal roadheader as the prototype, which provided the foundation for realizing the virtual prototype of roadheader, at the same time, studied the motion analysis of pick in all cutting state based on MATLAB, which provided support for choosing the cutting parameters of roadheader. This article analyzed the stress state of pick in the state of swing cutting motion and drilling cutting motion of cutting head, built the virtual prototype of the cutting motion state in the virtual prototype software of ADAMS using the established 3D model, and obtained the force and torque curve diagram of cutting head, also in the vibration module of ADAMS, the vibration model of roadheader was built, from which the various modes and frequency response curves are obtained, and the vibration state of swing cutting motion of roadheader was analyzed. Using the finite element analysis software of ANSYS, the article analyzed the strength of the connecting piece of pick and pick-holder, before the analysis the relational expression between the stress of pick and the applied force of pick in the ANSYS was deduced. The design of this article will help the cantilevered roadheader on computer aided design, virtual prototype realizing and vibration analysis of machine, and will provide important basis of optimization design of cantilevered roadheader.
