The article, based on the teaching material theory and related with the practical requirement of education, divides the teaching material into three elements: knowledge structure, capability structure and humanities structure. From the three aspects, the author analysis the general physics textbooks for the twenty-first century, including mechanical, heat and optics. The article develops two tendencies to reforming general physics textbooks. The tendencies are modernization and humanities. The author sums up the ways of realizing modernization and humanities. At last, the article points out that fully reflecting physical cultural should be emphasis on the reforming teaching materials from now on.
