The titanium dioxide is one of the most important products of the titanium-based . Its physical and chemical properties of stable , non-toxic , tasteless , and has excellent optical and electrical properties and excellent pigment performance , a wide range of applications in the chemical industry, metallurgy , electronics industry . Titanium dioxide production methods are mainly divided into the sulfate and chlorination two . Currently in China , sulfuric acid method to produce titanium dioxide occupy a major position . Panzhihua, Sichuan Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group in the production of titanium dioxide to sulfuric acid method titanium dioxide . In the process of production by the sulfuric acid method , hydrolysis of the titanyl sulfate solution is the most important step . Authigenic crystal kinds of titanyl sulfate, titanium solution hydrolysis process , the introduction of 40KHz , 100W ultrasonic role , using XRD, SEM, EDS and TEM and other modern test technology hydrolyzate carried characterization , investigated ultrasonic of titanyl sulfate, titanium solution hydrolysis process of impact. The experiments show that anatase titanium dioxide aqueous hydrolyzate liquid titanium ultrasonic field remains . When the hydrolysis is conducted in the temperature of the titanium solution for about 96 ℃ , applying ultrasonic waves to the hydrolysis rate of 2% -3% . The titanium liquid boiling temperature , whether the gap between the ultrasonic obvious , hydrolysis rate reached more than 97% . And without ultrasound hydrolyzate phase comparison, the lower ultrasonic field under the action of a hydrolyzate of the degree of particle aggregation , particle morphology comparison rule , the particles are uniformly dispersed . After the ultrasonic wave is applied , have a 25% reduction in the sulfur content in the hydrolyzate . The boiling titanium liquid hydrolyzate XRD analysis results show that ultrasound is applied , cell parameters C from 0.9464nm reduce the 0.9103nm . Whether the ultrasonic action , the grain size of hydrolyzate were 3.0nm and 3.3nm after calcined grew as 8.8nm and 10.1nm . After calcination of the hydrolyzate , the performance of the ultrasonic effect of average particle size is significantly reduced, without ultrasound no change . The paper combines the characteristics of ultrasound were analyzed to explore the mechanism of ultrasonic the titanium liquid hydrolysis process , the results indicate that ultrasonic can promote the the titanium solution of hydrolysis , and affect the formation of crystals , resulting in grain refinement , calcined relatively thin particles.
