Language is the foundation of students’lifelong learning. All teachers should conduct language teaching. The language teaching in science education is science reading and science writing. When students want to master the science knowledge and science concept, they should read the text and through reasoning, and understand the significance of science concept. Except promoting students’science concept learning, science reading and science writing also can help the development of nature of science and scientific literacy. Based on the positive role of science reading and science writing to students’science study, overseas and Taiwan area do a lot of research, and obtained many achievements. But in P.R.China, the research of this aspect is still not into system.On the basis of the background of the study, we do the research of that "integrating science reading and science writing into insects teaching". Surrounding this issue, we focused on five aspects.Firstly, research the connotation of science reading and science writing. On the basis of summarizing the existing research, specific interpretation the connotation of science reading and science writing.Secondly, expound the importance of science reading and science writing. In the process of comb literature, expounding the importance of science reading and science writing from different perspectives.Thirdly, introduce the instructional strategies of science reading in science teaching. Based on the three interaction factors of science reading, Combined with examples, introduce the application of some instructional strategies with science reading in science teaching.Fourthly, introduce the instructional strategies of science writing in science teaching. Many countries have developed a series of instructional strategies of science writing. However, these strategies contrast badly with P.R.China’s realistic conditions. So, introducing instructional strategies suitable for China’s practical situation become one of the important contents of this study.Fifth, through the research of instructional strategies of science reading and science writing, with the example of insects teaching, explore how to integrate science reading and science writing into science teaching.The results of the study show that, at the aspect in mastery of insect concept, the students in experimental class’s performance is better than that in comparative class. At the same time, they are more willing to do science writing and share their own opinions with others. Although science reading and science writing has positive function for science study, in the process of interviewing teachers, we find that, there are many difficulties in the implementation process.Based on the above research and the current situation of China’s science education, pay attention to science courses, guarantee the study time for science; understand the nature of science, value scientific inquiry; transform of education evaluation system and develop the space of science education; improve science teachers’quality; through the post-career training, introduce the latest research hotspot of science education, these approaches will be the important ways to promote science reading and science writing.
