Many perplexing problems have been solved in the research of teaching writing, including writing curriculum development, the compilation of writing textbook, the instruction of writing process and the assessment. Nevertheless, the construction of Writing Workshop is a domain which has not been researched deeply. Until the 1980s, Writing Workshop which student-centered has become highly influential in the United States, its improving the quality of writing teaching. Writing Workshop refers to an environment conceived to encourage written expression, children need to know that their environment is a positive, literacy-rich. In this kind of classroom environment, throughout the process, make the student have countless books, themes, inexhaustible resources and ideas, different intelligences were used to motivate the students and improving the quality of writing. The cold, dull and humble classroom has turn to writing paradise with comfortable, colorful and affluent.Through a description of the origin and background of Writing Workshop, the paper explores its historical inevitability, on the basis of theoretical explain its theoretical construction. In terms of create a multiple, comfortable and opening classroom environment, presents the influence of environment to students writing and how the teachers of American to use it to meet the requirements of English Language Arts Curriculum Standard. The paper will provide a perspective for the diversification of writing teaching research, provide a multiple, comfortable and opening classroom environment for students, and also provide an useful reference for the construction of writing teaching environment.PartⅠ, the author refers the scope and significance of the thesis.
