Fractional Brownian motion is an important content of fractal geometry , it can build the great characteristics of fractal geometry model , this geometric model can be used to generate a variety of different natural objects . Fractional Brownian motion random midpoint displacement method is based on a controlled mountains terrain model can generate fusion surface methodology . The method first generates the source of control surfaces having a predetermined shape , and then the random midpoint displacement method into which both having a predetermined shape , so that the generated surface , and another part of the fractal surface characteristics Brown ; Finally, a smoothing processing method of fusion the surface generated spikes rift slightly trimmed. DEM data format must be used for OpenGL environment , terrain data in digital form should be converted into the basic format of the OpenGL scattered point data generated from the gridded DEM gridding algorithm , for any space can be used by network gridding algorithm using the the already scattered point elevation sampling data calculated for each grid node elevation value . Regulating the terrain shape is scattered through the given point , after gridding can indirectly regulate the ups and downs of the generated terrain , fast and convenient .
