Hydrotalcite has attracted ever increasing attention lately due to their unique properties toward specific applications in various areas, In this paper, Nano-LDHs has been applied in waterborne polyurethane coating and rubber, and pillared hydrotalcite has been synthesized and characterized.A Nano-LDHs /waterborne polyurethane compound coating has been prepared by use of direst blending method, which is charactered with XRD, TEM, UV-VIS spectrometer etc for the chemical structure ,optical properties of the film. The result showed that the film has UV screening property with addition of LDHs, the UV ray screening ability of the coating attained 85% in wavelength of 200~300nm. Basic performance test of the coatings prepared by mixing 3% of nano-LDHs with waterborne polyurethane were carried out.Probe the feasibility to use the LDHs as the rubber’s reinforcement filler to improve the mechanical properties.
