Fiber grating is the most rapid development in recent years , the most widely used fiber optic passive components . Due to its many unique advantages in the field of fiber-optic communication , fiber optic sensing has broad application prospects . Fiber grating sensors based on fiber grating technology has become a hot topic in the field of sensor research . The outstanding advantages of fiber grating as a sensor reusability using multiple fiber grating , can constitute a distributed sensor network , multi-point detection , which has important applications in intelligent and smart structures . The main contents of this paper are as follows : the theory of fiber grating system , the main contents include : fiber grating coupled mode theory ; the lightwave transmission characteristics of the fiber Bragg grating ; physical characteristics of the fiber Bragg grating sensing principle . And the status and application of optical fiber sensing technology development at home and abroad . At home and abroad have studied filter demodulation method simply summarized and analyzed , and matched grating filter demodulation technology into the system of theoretical analysis and experimental research , experimental filter demodulation technology wavelength resolution rate 2.33pm. The reported fiber grating multiplexed sensing system literature [ 21 ~ 24, 30 ~ 39,42,44 ] , first designed and implemented based on the tunable fiber lasers , fiber Bragg grating wavelength division and time division multiplexing array sensor system , the sensor system with economic practicality , high signal-to-noise ratio with great number of reusable sensor network for multi - point detection has great practical value . The specific content of the study are as follows : ( 1) design based on tunable fiber Bragg grating fiber laser , tunable wavelength range of 10 nm , and its works . (2) the use of the microcontroller and the optical intensity modulator is a continuous laser pulse light is modulated into a time division multiplexing require peak power compared to the widespread use of broadband light source , the light source is strong , high SNR after sensing network . (3) using the matching grating tuned fiber laser wavelength scanning addressable active demodulation scheme , and the success of a wavelength division and time division multiplexing sensing four fiber grating composed of a string of two grating strain resolution of 2.9 με / step.
