Detection of Telomerase Activity in Induced Sputum in the Diagnosis of Lung Cancer

Objective: induced sputum of patients with lung cancer by detecting telomerase activity , investigate telomerase induced sputum Clinical significance of expression in lung cancer patients , in order to evaluate the diagnostic value of the method for lung cancer , looking for new clinical diagnosis of lung cancer auxiliary method . Methods: the collection of pathologically confirmed 30 cases of lung cancer patients ( peripheral lung cancer 16 cases, 14 cases of central lung cancer ; non-small cell lung cancer in 20 cases, 10 cases of small cell lung cancer ; I , II lung cancer 7 , III , IV of lung cancer 23 ) natural sputum, induced sputum specimens of induced sputum and 15 cases of benign lung disease patients , using TRAP - PCR - ELISA method for determination of telomerase activity , results in the OD value . The experimental results using the X2 test , t test was used for statistical analysis . Results: 30 patients with lung cancer induced sputum , natural sputum and lung cancer patients induced sputum positive rate of telomerase and OD values ??were 80% , 56.7 % , 13.3% and 0.523 ± 0.267,0.349 ± 0.247,0.091 ± 0.110 . Induced sputum of lung cancer group was higher than natural the sputum group and healthy control group , there was significant difference statistically significant ( P lt ; 0.01 ) , the diagnosis of lung cancer overall sensitivity , specificity and accuracy were 80% , 86.7% and 82.2% ; peripheral lung cancer , central lung cancer induced sputum positive rate of telomerase and OD value respectively for 70 % , 85 % ( P GT ; 0.05 ) and 0.340 ± 0.240,0.558 ± 0.285 ( P gt ; 0.05 ) ; small cell carcinoma with non- small cell carcinoma induced sputum telomerase positive rate and OD values ??were 90 % , 75 % ( P GT ; 0.05 ) and 0.627 ± 0.287,0.471 ± 0.248 ( P gt ; 0.05 ) ; I - II of lung cancer , III - IV lung cancer induced sputum positive rate of telomerase and OD value respectively for 57.1 % and 86.9 % ( P gt ; 0.05 ) and 0.274 ± 0.193,0.599 ± 0.241 ( P lt ; 0.01 ) . CONCLUSION : 1.TRAP - PCR - ELISA assay telomerase activity in induced sputum better than Natural sputum , can be used for the diagnosis of lung cancer . 2 induced sputum telomerase activity detection the auxiliary staging of lung cancer , for guiding lung cancer treatment and prognosis .
