In 2000, the Ministry of Education issued the principal opinions on how to set up teaching plan for Secondary Vocational School. It scientifically describes that the goal of Secondary Vocational School is to train the Intermediate professionals who will be adapt to socialist modernization progress with high achievement on ethics, academic, physics and arts. These professionals should have high quality and multiple skills to work in production, service, technology & management sectors. The professional training standards require trainees not only have creative and practical abilities, but also have abilities of continuing study and adapting to career change. This makes it clear that the goal of Secondary Vocational School is higher than before and diversified. As a result of this, teaching materials are diversified too and different schools in different locations should choose teaching materials according to their own need. According to incomplete statistics, the following versions of teaching materials for math are used in Secondary Vocational School in our province:Higher Education Press (HEP), Language Publishing House(LPH) and Chinese Chamber of Commerce Joint Publishing House(CCCJPH), etc. This article will use the teaching materials for math (HEP and LPH versions) from our school as subjects to analyze the differences and merits in context from both versions. On the other hand, following the particularity of Secondary Vocational School, the article will shed some light on what kind of features math teaching materials should have and how to use them in order to meet the Secondary Vocational School training requirements.By using the Volume 1 of both abovementioned math teaching material as the subjects, through the methods of Literature, Statistical and Interview Analysis, the following s will be discussed:the math teaching environment in Secondary Vocational School; the differences in style and organizational structure which could affect students’study and application abilities; interviewing students to get their opinions on current teaching materials in practicality.Finally, the author makes the following recommendations for math teaching in Secondary Vocational School:1.Building a common basis to reduce the starting point for development platform.2.Based on the main battlefield of the local economic construction, accurate positioning curriculum goals, adjust the internal system of curriculum.3.Outstanding professionalism.4.Integrated with information technology.5.Strengthen school-based building materials.
