Since 2000, Children’s literature bestsellers has ranked on the top of the demestic book sales charts. While this hot phenomenon was led by the bestselling of the chinese simplified form version of Harry Potter. As a big worldwide attracted reading events, the meaning of Harry Potter is already beyond itsself, and it evolves into a kind of important economics, culture and social phenomenons.The hot sales of Harry Potter not only bring about the objective commercial and social benefits to the publishing institution, but also forge the resurrection of Children’s literature of China directly. So, making research and analysis on the very case of Harry Potter is deep meaningful to the demestic market children’s literature, especially for the operating system of children’s literature bestsellers.This paper is based on the whole marketing theory, and makes a detailed outline on the whole marketing process to the domestic market of the chinese simplified form version of Harry Potter, from the introduction to the market background of Harry Potter to its final sales. This paper is directed by the whole market planning theory which is looked as the advanced theory of the modern books publishing. Exactly based on the marketing analysis of symplified Chinese version of Harry Potter, this article seeks the potential cause which promoted best sellers,based on which it also reflectes how the domestic children’s best-selling literature books are operated. Aiming at the condition of bestsellers system of domestic children’s literature, this paper makes its own proposals on the successful marketing operation of Harry Potter.The article is divided into four chapters. In Chapter One, a general description on the author as well as content of the book Harry Potter was presented. Importance was attached to the basic theory of whole marketing in Chapter Two.Chapter Three is the focus of the article in which the whole marketing of Harry Potter was discussed in detail.Every procedure of marketing planning on the part of simple Chinese version of Harry Potter was analyzed, which was according to the market context in which it was brought in, readers’ needs in addition to processes of book production. Based on what were described in the former chapters, reflection and proposals were put forward in Chapter Four in terms of operation of best-selling literature books among Chinese children. The author also hoped that domestic children’s best-selling literature books can borrow operating experience from such serials of books as Harry Potter to realize that best-selling children’s literature books in China can be developed prosperously and healthily, which will hopefully make it prominent among the world’s publishing market.
