The Study on the Space-time Evolution of Road Network and the Coupling with Regional Economic Growth of Qinghai Province

Road transport is one of basic industries in the national economy.Transport has an important role in regional economic process. The pros and cons of regional transport networks, not only affects the regional economic development speed、quality, and has a direct impact on playing of regional radiation power and improving of regional competitiveness. On the contrary, the regional economic growth is the driving force and basis of the development of transportation.There are Complex terrain in Qinghai Province, the railway lines are short, and no water transport, air transport lag behind most areas. So road transport is the most important mode of transport, playing an important role in economic development. In view of this, the paper is based on related theories of regional economic growth and development of highway network, according to a lot of data and information, systematic analysis of the spatial and temporal evolution of Qinghai Province, and the coupling between the regional economic development and road network. The study not only enriches research content of the transport and regional economic growth in coupling relationship on theory, but also enhance the economic competitiveness of Qinghai Province, guide and promote the development of their regional integration provides a scientific basis in practice gradually.First, the article discusses the research’s background and significance, the progress of research at home and abroad and research methods in this paper. In addition, the paper interpret the basic concepts of regional economic growth and development of the basic theory of road network clearly, and explore the spatial and temporal road network evolution in Qinghai Province, and the relationshipof with regional economic growth, to lay a theoretical foundation for the paper for further study.Secondly, from the road network structure, spatial pattern, transport indicators and accessibility in Qinghai Province, research temporal and spatial evolution of the road network, pointed out that the overall structure of the road network in Qinghai Province, the result show a stable trend that road transport capacity developing by leaps and bounds in the past. However, the distribution of spatial of road network is out balance, road density of Xining City and Haidong areas was significantly higher than other regions. In addition, since 1985, road network accessibility was weakening gradual from Xining and its surrounding counties is unchanged of Qinghai Province.Then, research the coupling of space-time evolution of road network by correlation analysis, coefficient of elasticity, and reachability analysis of Qinghai Province, the result pointing out that the road network and regional economic growth has a highly significant relationship in Qinghai Province.Finally, based on forecasting and planning of the regional economic growth and the regional economic growth of highway network in Qinghai Provinc, the paper has a preliminary study on the development of relations between the road network and regional economic growth.
