With the economic and social development, as well as the improvement of living standards, the rapid increase in all kinds of vehicles makes the traffic management more difficult. In order to ensure the safety of life and property and ease the problem of insufficient police, the traffic management departments employ the road coordinators to assist the traffic police to maintain the road traffic order.How to keep the traffic assistants’attendance is quite essential. The scientific and informative management is an important basis for improving management. Therefore, developing effective traffic assistant management software is necessary, which enables accurate, detailed recording and analysis of related work, job performances, and reasonable evaluation results. This will encourage the coordinators, increase transparency, reduce working errors and improve efficiency.Traffic assistant management system is a typical management information system (MIS), which mainly includes the establishment, maintenance of the database and the development of application. The former requires secure database with strong consistency, integrity and security; for the latter, its functions must be complete and convenient. According to the analysis, we develop a coordinator management system based on the mode of B/S with ASP and Access database as a background database.The system consists of five modules: (1) user management module; (2) team management module; (3) status management module; (4) coordinators and basic information module; (5) attendance management module. System administrator has all permissions on all modules. The coordinators have only part of the authority, including amending their own password, add their own basic information data, browsing and querying other information.After nearly three months of operating, testing and modifying, this system has achieved the desired requirements and can be put into use.
