Ordinary mortar to make use of polymer modification is solving the problem of poor bonding between mortar and new wall materials, improve masonry shear strength, slow and limited one of the effective methods of masonry crack. This article main research adopts polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and methyl cellulose (MC) for ordinary secondary modified mortar, masonry shear performance of different pieces of wood, for the application of modified mortar in the masonry test and theoretical basis. This article adopts the method of orthogonal design, and 16 group, 96 specimens were conducted the shear test, study the intensity of mortar, block, category of PVB and MC content of four kinds of factors affect the performance of masonry shear; And for each a piece of wood masonry shear strength analysis of the statistical regression to get the calculation formula of modified mortar masonry shear strength. On the basis of above analysis, the modified mortar is used for all kinds of dosage and ratio of the masonry is suggested, as a reference for engineering application.
