In Chinese history, the Confucian culture is the dominant status, but Taoist culture, one of the mainstream of Chinese traditional culture, also played the indispensable role. Especially the founder of it---Lao zi, has had a huge impact on later generations by virtue of the philosophy exploration of "law of nature", the political ideal of "non-interference", the dialectical thought and so on. This paper focused on searching for the traces of Lao tze spirit in the current middle school language teaching material, and explore the application value of Lao tze thought in Chinese teaching activities.First, it summarized the main content of Lao tze thought and the research status of the current scholars on the influence of Lao tze thought in the Chinese teaching of middle school. Secondly, it took the current People’s education press edition middle school language teaching material as the main research object to seek Lao tze thought in Chinese textbooks of high school, and used Chinese curriculum humanism characteristics to give full play of text to Students’ thoughts and feelings, and guide students to learn the philosophy wisdom, and creative spirit and ecological consciousness of Lao tze thoughtThirdly, this paper studied the application value of Lao tze thought in the Chinese teaching of middle school activities, give full play to the educational functions of Chinese curriculum’s emotions, attitudes and values, and to guide the students to borrow Lao tze’s harmoniousness, sagacity and "Xujing" thought to adjust the mentality of fickleness, utilitarian mood, and set up the correct world outlook, the outlook on life and values.Finally, it enumerated some factors of Lao tze thought which have a negative impact on the Chinese teaching of middle school. It also guided students to view Lao tze works dialectically.
