Currently, the third harmonic excitation synchronous generator has become a common excitation mode. However, due to the third harmonic magnetic field by magnetic saturation, air gap, alveolar and a great influence on the shape of the pole, the current design methods for harmonic excitation lack of accurate analysis and calculation, it is impossible to grasp the harmonic excitation system load performance . Therefore, this article uses electromagnetic field numerical calculation of the harmonic excitation synchronous generator load performance of in-depth analysis. This study analyzed the results for the third harmonic excitation provides a new way of thinking, but also for the third harmonic excitation generator design and research to provide a solid theoretical foundation and powerful design tools. This paper describes the electromagnetic field synchronous motor load calculation method described synchronous generator load electromagnetic field winding and the armature winding method applied load, and boundary conditions, and the synchronous motor stator skew load calculation method gives the synchronous motor load analysis software ANSYS command stream program flowchart and prototype of the basic data. Secondly, the introduction of the development of methods based on ANSYS command stream computing software and load electromagnetic field winding voltage calculated post-processing software, discusses the two calculations winding EMF method - Fourier decomposition method and the tooth flux method, and analyzed this advantages and disadvantages of two methods. Fourier decomposition method and the tooth flux method were calculated harmonic excitation synchronous generator load fundamental and harmonic winding winding voltage magnitude and waveform, and through tests to verify the calculation results. Then, without considering the saturation of the premise, using linear theory for the harmonic excitation synchronous generator load harmonic excitation characteristics were analyzed to obtain the fundamental and third harmonic magnetic potential, flux and voltage phase volume chart, analyze magnetic field windings and stator windings potential on the fundamental and third harmonic voltage effects, qualitative grasp of the third harmonic excitation compound excitation characteristics. Finally, the harmonic excitation characteristics of synchronous generator electromagnetic field analysis. In the case of constant excitation current, changing the armature current size, its a lot of electromagnetic field calculations were derived armature current and load voltage are in phase and the armature current and load voltage of a set of orthogonal external characteristic curve, thereby performing excitation current, the armature current voltage relationship with the harmonic winding synchronous generator electromagnetic analysis and straight shaft load, the cross-axis load harmonic excitation characteristics of the electromagnetic field analysis.
