Nowadays, with the development of the technologies of computer science, modern engineering test, communication and artificial intelligence, the control system and fault diagnosis system for construction machinery and equipment have made great progress. Developing intelligentized control system for construction machinery and equipment with existing technologies will be a important tendency. After reviewing the development of control system and diagnosis system for construction machinery and equipment and concrete pump, a control model based on PLC is represented in this thesis. The model built in PLC is consisted of some functional modules: state monitoring, intelligent control and fault diagnosis. Online and remote state monitoring along with fault diagnosis are implemented by communicating with personal computer through GSM. An intelligent control system based on PLC for concrete pump –model HBTZ60 has been studied in this thesis. After the requirement, function and framework of the control system for concrete pump have been analyzed in detail, an intelligent control system has been constructed. Besides routine control for concrete pump, there are the other three features in this PLC control system: fault diagnosis subsystem integrated into PLC control system, online monitor implemented by the host personal computer and remote monitor and control fulfilled by remote computer through SMS communication subsystem. Preliminary operation for HBTZ60 intelligent concrete pump has completed, which 4000m3 mortar has been pumped. In addiction, nine kinds of common fault have been simulated. All these results illuminate that this control system meets the requirement of design, is intelligent enough.
