With the rapid development of wireless communication technology and computer network technology , the wireless network bandwidth continue to improve , and increased the capacity of the real - time data transmission , the growing popularity of wireless local area network , wireless local area network - based video transmission has become a hot research . Compared to the wired network , wireless network with flexible networking , scalability , portability , convenient network reconstruction , maintenance costs low . In this paper, based on the embedded Linux operating system , S3C2440A ARM920T core embedded microprocessor for the design and implementation of real-time wireless video transmission system of hardware and software platforms , the system will go through the MPEG-4 software coding the video images via an 802.11 wireless network transmission to the video server , video image analysis , storage and display . The paper first describes the overall design of the system , including the establishment of the system hardware design and system software development environment . Among them, the construction of the cross-compiler environment is completed the follow-up development work on the basis of the Qt porting create the conditions for the application running on the development board . The next major functional modules of the system design and implementation, including video data acquisition modules , wireless video transmission module hardware design , embedded Linux driver transplantation , MPEG -4 digital video the software compression as well as the realization of the application . The system uses the UDP protocol and RTP / RTCP protocol implements the 802.11 wireless LAN video transmission , high reliability and easy - to - use , and can be easily applied to wireless video - based wireless video surveillance , wireless video conferencing video transmission occasions.
