WCDMA and GSM Wireless Network Interoperability Optimization

Since May 2009 , China Unicom, the country major cities have been completed and the first phase of construction of the WCDMA network . Nationwide WCDMA network compared to the existing GSM network covering the breadth and depth there is a considerable gap between the full use of the existing GSM network resources is of great significance for China Unicom's WCDMA network fast cloth mesh . A longer period of time , we should adhere to the principle of a network , the WCDMA network with GSM network interoperability between the network coverage extension and load balancing to achieve coordinated development of WCDMA network and GSM network . Reduce the upgrade of the existing GSM / GPRS network , reducing the number of switching between systems , and try to make 3G users enjoy WCDMA network services using the GSM / GPRS network to expand the coverage of WCDMA networks to keep the 3G user business continuity , need to follow the principle of interoperability optimize . In this paper, the different situations in the actual test , the selection of a different representative of typical scenes . WCDMA covers the edge of the scene , WCDMA continuous coverage of the scene of weak coverage area ( empty ) , indoor scenes , as well as the decline of the indoor elevator scene . Refer to different combinations of parameters in these typical scene on the two - way re-election in the idle mode 2G/3G CS domain switching from 3G to 2G , the PS domain 2G/3G bidirectional switching massive test . Summary of the test results to determine interoperability strategy , and past experience of different scenes set different combinations of parameters derived WCDMA / GSM interoperability points the scene parameter setting guidance . Finally , I combine actual work experience , summed up the 2G/3G interoperability parameters optimized workflow . Paper to solve the existing network manufacturers scene with a set of baseline parameters to be set , without considering the differences of the different scenarios , to solve the mismatch problem of switching parameters reselection parameters exist , switch parameters exist with improper problems.
