New ways to reveal the degree of similarity between the current the rainstorm flood and the history of Rainstorms flood for flood control , and effective use of the occurrence of similar storm flood history , development and evolution of information , is to improve the real - time flood forecasting and flood control scheduling system . First , from the cause of the weather , heavy rains and flooding occurrence and development of three levels of study summarizes the major river basins of Rainstorms flood similarity analysis index system . After the the Extenics basic theory , introduced extenics method to solve the difficult multi - angle , multi-level subjective identification of Rainstorms flood similar issues . Proposed by the size of the total precipitation in the relatively similar period to find the degree of similarity between the Rainstorms this cumulative average precipitation and heavy rains during the period covered by the number of rainfall stations as the characteristic indicators to measure the total precipitation of the small area close to the extent , subsequently considered by the judge rainstorms in the relative magnitude of the eventual realization of Rainstorms similarity analysis from the whole basin rainstorms in the similarity analysis Extension Evaluation model .
